Questions to Ask: Attorney, Title Company, or Closing Agents

  1. What hours do you conduct closings?
  2. When is the best time of month to close?
  3. Do you have any vacations or time out of the office scheduled over the next 45-60 days?  If so, how will your clients be handled in your absence?
  4. What is your turnaround time after receiving documents from lender, REALTOR, or title company?
  5. What is the name of your office manager?
  6. May I have a copy of your fee schedule?
  7. What are your cancellation fees, if any?
  8. Do you have a title department?
  9. How soon will the title policy paperwork available after a buyer makes a loan application?
  10. Who receives a copy of the paper work?
  11. Will you provide a Settlement Statement (HUD1) to me at least 24 hours before closing?
  12. How often will you update on the progress of a closing?
